Popular countdown timers
Counting down rather than waking up? Every timer has its own page.
Open the online timer to set any duration in hours, minutes and seconds, or use the online stopwatch to count up with lap times. There is also a full-screen online clock and a countdown to any date.
What is this online alarm clock?
This page is a free alarm clock that runs entirely in your browser: pick a time, choose a sound, press Set Alarm, and it rings right here. Counting down a length of time instead of a clock time? Use the online timer for that.
How to set an alarm online
- Pick the hour, minute and AM/PM above.
- Choose a sound and press Test sound to check it at the volume you want.
- Press Set Alarm.
- Keep this tab open: that is what lets it ring.
Settings
- Loop keeps the sound repeating once the alarm rings, rather than playing it once. On by default.
- Snooze appears once the alarm is ringing and re-arms it 5, 10 or 15 minutes later, whichever you pick.
- Volume is one slider that controls both Test sound and the alarm itself.
- Dark screen fills the page with black while the alarm is armed, so the display does not light up the room. Tap or press Esc to leave it.
- Notifications are an optional browser notification alongside the sound, offered only after you press Set Alarm - never automatically when the page loads.
Frequently asked questions
- Is this alarm loud enough to wake me up?
- It is exactly as loud as your device's speaker at the volume you set. Use Test sound at the volume and distance you will actually be sleeping at before you rely on it.
- Will it ring if I close the tab?
- No. A browser page stops running the moment its tab is closed, so the alarm cannot ring after that.
- Will it ring if my computer goes to sleep?
- No. If the screen locks or the device sleeps, the page is paused along with it. Keep screen awake stops the device from sleeping on its own while the alarm is armed, but it cannot stop you from manually closing the lid or locking it.
- Will the alarm ring if my phone locks?
- Usually not. When your phone locks or you switch to another app, the browser pauses the page, so the alarm can't ring on time. Keep this tab open and turn on Keep screen awake before you put your phone down.
- Does it need an internet connection after it's set?
- No. Once the page has loaded, the alarm runs locally in your browser and does not need network access to keep time or to ring.
- Can I set more than one alarm?
- Not yet. This page runs a single alarm, shared across every tab you have it open in - setting a new time in one tab updates the rest.
